I am a Hatha yoga teacher and dance practitioner based in the East Midlands. I believe everybody (and every body) can access the benefits of yoga and hope to dispel the myth that you have to be extremely flexible, super strong and permanently calm to even consider turning up to a class! For me, yoga is about personal growth, finding balance in all aspects of life and learning how to be compassionate to yourself and others.
One of the most important lessons yoga has taught me is how important it is to let yourself develop at a pace that's right for you. Nothing can be gained from pushing too hard or setting unrealistic goals. Every improvement, however small, is significant and learning to let go of ego and competitiveness in your practice will allow you to get the most out of it. I think we can all do with being a little less hard on ourselves - yoga reminds us to be patient and appreciate the small things. However, that doesn't mean we don't need to be challenged! In my teaching, I hope to encourage you to honour what your body needs as well as provide opportunities for you to progress and explore new possibilities in your practice.
I am registered with Yoga Alliance UK as a 200hr Hatha Yoga Teacher. I took my training with Samyak Yoga in Mysore, India.
